LOOSE SKIN


Rapid weight loss often leaves loose skin on the abdomen, arms and legs. This happens because the skin has lost some elasticity and did not have time to shrink with the rest of the body. GALLSTONES


A common side effect of rapid weight loss is the development of gallstones -- hard deposits of cholesterol that form in the gallbladder. While fatty liver disease is commonly associated with obesity, rapid weight loss is a risk factor for developing liver damage, sometimes following surgery to reduce weight in obese patients. This may be due to the sudden changes in your fatty acid profile after your weight loss, or as a residual effect of being overweight.


In another case Aamir Khan the well known perfectionist on the contrary gained 25 kilos for his movie Dangal. He followed a strict diet and lifestyle modifications to reduce his weight gradually.According to the superstar, the 3 most important things to lead a healthy lifestyle are a healthy and balanced diet, exercise and rest (amen!). The Bollywood superstar claims that a balanced diet is 1/3 fat, 1/3 carbohydrates and 1/3 protein, and suggests you head to a qualified dietician if you wish to lose weight. 

"Importantly, eating less is not a healthy balanced diet", says Aamir Khan. And we couldn't agree more.



So what is the right way ??



Weight loss is simple, In that it really is about moving more, eating healthy, quality calories. However, there are some other factors such as stress, sleep level, hormone level and genetics that can also influence rate of weight loss and get in the way of the simple weight loss calculation of subtracting 500 calories per day.


How much weight you can lose a month will vary individually and will vary depending on factors mentioned above. However, a general guideline is about 2 to 4 kg per month if following the 500 gm to 1 kg of weight loss per week recommendation. However, it could be more especially if it is in the first month of making significant lifestyle changes. 

Conclusion :

A healthy and sustainable rate of fat loss is roughly 500gm to 1kg per week. You can achieve this by creating a caloric deficit of 500 to 1,000 calories per day. Combine a healthy diet with regular exercise to lose weight without experiencing the negative health effects of overly rapid weight loss.

Testophobia - Phobia of Exams

Recently a girl Aarohi (name changed) of 24 years came to my clinic. When she came to meet me, she was crying, her eyes were red( which means she was crying since a long time), her hands were shaking, sweating, her body was trembling continuously, her breathing was shallow, increased palpitation. She was vomiting throughout the day. Her mother told that she is talking of jumping from the top of her building since two days. Aarohi had a full blown panic attack when she came to meet me. The reason was she was appearing for C.A. exam and was unable to study.

This kind of reaction is seen in many students who appear for difficult exams. It’s a very normal reaction as the pressure of the syllabus is very difficult to manage.
